Individual Counseling
Trauma and PTSD Counseling
Trauma can take many forms and while most commonly associated with soldiers returning from war, post-traumatic stress disorder can afflict anyone. Recovering from spousal and child abuse, physical and/or sexual abuse, serious accidents, the loss of a child, or working on the front lines can cause PTSD. We are certified to offer eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or EMDR therapy, a relatively new form of psychotherapy designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. In addition, we offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) that has been know to help first responders and many others with a traumatic event.
Adolescents & Teens
This is a very tough age of life, both for the adolescent & teen as well as the parents. We have worked with adolescents and teens facing problems with anxiety, cutting, bullying, depression, parental problems, social skills, sexual orientation, gender concerns, and other issues.
Identity
For many people, who they are as an individual can come into conflict with who others around them want them to be. This could take the form of a religion or faith crisis, LGBTQ issues, issues with peer relationships, or escaping from fundamentalist indoctrination. We are especially adept at helping those finding themselves in these types of situations or wanting to transition into the person they need to become.
Children's Counseling
Child therapy can be so rewarding for the child and the therapist. We have therapists who love working with children as well as their parents to ensure the best results. We work with mental health and emotional and behavioral problems. We work on teaching coping skills and improving emotional regulation.
Couples Counseling
For many people, who they are as an individual can come into conflict with who others around them want them to be. This could take the form of a religion or faith crisis, LGBTQ issues, issues with peer relationships, or escaping from fundamentalist indoctrination. We are especially adept at helping those finding themselves in these types of situations or wanting to transition into the person they need to become.
Neurofeedback
What if there were a way of reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma and attention problems that could complement talk therapy and medication? An approach to treatment called “neurofeedback” yields promising results of this nature.
Neurofeedback addresses problems with mental health from an entirely different direction — by training our brains to better self-regulate.
