Biography
In my early years of college I learned that I love helping others and wanted to do something that contributed to others’ lives in some form. Growing up I indirectly saw how much Marriage and Family Therapy helped my parents which in turn helped my family as a whole. Because of this and my own personal therapeutic journey I grew a strong appreciation for therapy and the help and healing it can give to people.
I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Communications with a minor in Psychology in 2021 at Dixie State University. During my undergraduate degree I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician using Applied Behavior Analysis therapy with children ages 2 to 12, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. During this time I learned that I truly enjoy helping children and family systems. After graduating I spent multiple years volunteering at the Dover Center working with mothers and children that attended group therapy. I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy program at Touro University. Nichole Rammell, LCSW is my supervisor.
From the lens of Marriage and Family Therapy I believe that we are all affected by the people in our systems and it is important to learn how to effectively thrive in those systems with others. I am excited to work with all individuals as we are all part of a system in one way or another. Aside from individual therapy, I love working with families, couples, and other intimate relationships. I naturally have a humanistic approach and love to utilize solution and educational-based models of therapy. I have **taken courses* on the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, which are all helpful approaches with relational issues.
I am from Southern Utah and love it here and all the activities that come with the desert and surrounding landscapes. I have spent my last few summers in Hawaii learning to surf, enjoy the ocean, and new cultures. I love to travel internationally and learn about new cultures. I spend most of my time with family, friends, my fiance, and new puppy.
