Biography

My belief is that you can’t help anyone else unless you help yourself first. Unfortunately, it seems we often leave ourselves for last. I have loved seeing so many people learn and grow through therapy. I’m a firm believer that when the skills learned in the office are put into practice amazing changes can happen. It’s a partnership where working together we can achieve very real results.

I did my undergraduate work at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2002. I worked as a social worker for a few years, then decided to return for a Master’s Degree. In 2010 I graduated from Boise State University with a Master of Social Work.

I have worked in several different settings both as a Social Worker and a Therapist. I have worked in Mental Health agencies, Home Health and Hospice, Hospital Administration, Outpatient Therapy Agencies, Group Home Agencies, and Private Practice with the FLDS and LGBTQ communities. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy). I have also trained in Neurofeedback and am certifying with the BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance). You must work with your body and your brain to truly heal and move forward with your mental and physical health.

I grew up in Idaho and moved to St. George, UT in 2012. I have been married for 23 years and have three beautiful kids. I absolutely love the outdoors and animals! We have a tabby cat and two dogs (Boston Terrier and Carlin Pinscher). Hummingbirds are my favorite to just sit and watch! Traveling is a huge part of my life. I enjoy going places with my family, friends, and by myself as much as I can.

Helping others has always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, so having the opportunity to work as a therapist is a dream come true for me!
