Biography

I have always believed that asking for help is one of the bravest things a person can do,
especially regarding their mental health. At one point in our lives, each of us will face
circumstances that feel too heavy to carry ourselves. The best news is that we don’t have to. One of my favorite quotes is, “if you don’t ask for help, you are denying someone the opportunity to be helpful.” I have always known that I wanted to be in a position where I am able to help individuals during the difficult seasons of life and celebrate with them during the happy ones. I completed my undergraduate degree at Southern Utah University. I graduated in 2020 with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Family Services. During my time at SUU, I was fortunate to work with a non-profit organization called Kesem. The goal of Kesem was to provide a summer camp for children whose parents had been diagnosed with cancer. During my time with Kesem, I was able to work closely with mental health professionals, specifically LCSWs. I saw their passion for the work and was inspired to go into the field of social work. After graduating, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. As an RBT, I worked with children ages 2-18 who had been diagnosed with Autism, AHDH, and ODD. I then transitioned to working as a caseworker. As a caseworker, I had the opportunity to spend time with children who had been exposed to a variety of traumas. I quickly realized that my passion was to work with children in unique and difficult situations. I believe that if children can address their mental health and trauma at an early age, they will be better equipped to face challenges throughout their lives. I am currently attending the University of Utah’s online Master of Social Work program, with an expected graduation date of May 2024. When I am not working with clients or attending school, I love spending time with my husband, baby girl and dog! I love being a new mom so much! I also love spending time outside, traveling to warm places, Disneyland trips, and attending country music concerts!  I was born in Southern Utah and have lived here my entire life; I am a big fan of the warm weather and being so close to the mountains!
