Biography
My favorite thing about butterflies is that they remind me of the possibility of change. Change is part of our human existence, and we usually move in one of two directions: either away from pain or towards joy. When we are in a more painful or stuck place in our lives, therapy can help us untangle things so we can create joy. As a marriage and family therapist, I focus on relationships and the way that they affect our lives. I believe that each person has the resources inside them to reach their full potential. I will support and guide you with warmth and empathy as we work to make the changes you hope for in your life and relationship. Being the recipient of someone’s story is a precious gift and I respect and honor those who share theirs with me.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Utah Tech University where I am currently enrolled in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. Nichole Rammell, LCSW is my supervisor. Our partnership allows me to provide you with the best possible care. My therapeutic approach is informed by experiential models including Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems, and I love integrating art into therapy. I firmly believe that you don’t have to be a skilled artist to find benefit in creativity. I have also been a prevention specialist where I worked to promote emotional and mental health and prevent suicide and substance abuse in our communities and schools.
Southern Utah is my home, and I love it here. The warm weather and beautiful scenery have made it a great place to raise my family. I enjoy hiking and exploring the landscape with loved ones, but I am also perfectly content curled up on the couch, drawing or reading a book. As a therapist who has gone to therapy, I understand the difference that therapy can make in a person’s life, and I am dedicated to supporting my clients to make the changes that they hope for.
